Kivalliq tourism growth part of Nunavut industry milestone
The Kivalliq region is playing an increasingly important role in Nunavut’s tourism industry, particularly in the growing sport hunting sector, the president of Travel Nunavut says.
“Most of our sport hunters now are based out of the Kivalliq region,” Alex Stubbing said. “It’s great to see that sector of the industry growing.”
This year is Travel Nunavut’s 30th anniversary, and Stubbing said operators in the region have been actively promoting their services beyond Nunavut, attending conventions and trade shows across Canada and the United States.
