Visitor Information
Travel Nunavut is very happy to provide information to help visitors plan their trip. Interested people should call the toll-free number for Destination Nunavut 1-866-686-2888 and an information counselor will be pleased to assist them. Many hamlets in Nunavut have websites with information regarding visitor centres, local attractions, arts, tours, expeditions, cultural activities and a full range of visitor accommodations.
Gateway Visitor Centres
There are three major Visitor Centres in Nunavut, found in the regional centres of Iqaluit, Rankin Inlet and Cambridge Bay.
Qikiqtaaluk Region
Unikkaarvik Visitor Centre, Iqaluit
This facility features several cultural exhibits and wildlife displays. It provides maps, tourism and historical information. Unikkaarvik also rents bicycles and shows Inuit movies. With special events, guest speakers and visiting exhibitions, there is always something new and enjoyable happening here.
